Privacy Policy

We collect as little as possible and we don't sell your data. Here's the full picture.

What we collect

• If you sign up: your email, a username, and a password hash. We never see your plain password.
• If you play: your answers, response times, ELO history, and game results.
• If you submit a report: your message and (if logged in) your account.
• Standard server logs: IP address (truncated), browser type, and timestamps for security and rate-limiting.

What we don't collect

• Browsing history outside GENIUS.
• Location beyond a city-level inference from IP (only for matchmaking latency).
• Anything that requires permission you haven't explicitly given.

What we do with it

Run the game, calculate your ELO and IQ, match you against opponents, show you analytics about your own performance, and improve the question bank. That's it.

Who we share it with

Nobody, except service providers we need to run the site (Railway for hosting). We do not sell data to advertisers, brokers, or third parties.

Cookies

One session cookie when you sign in. No third-party tracking. No advertising cookies. If/when we add anonymous usage analytics, we'll disclose that here.

Your rights

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. We'll remove your personal data within 30 days. Email and account history are deleted; aggregated anonymous statistics may be retained.

Children

GENIUS is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone in that group. If you believe we have, use the Report a Problem flow.
